Town Manager Terry Tilley to retire in September

Terry Tilley announced that he intends to retire in September of 2021. Terry has been Town Manager of Stuart for the last 42 years and will be missed by all. The Town Manager position will be difficult to fill.
Mayor Weiland is putting a committee together to begin the process of hiring a new Manager. The new manager should have good public administration and management skills, be able to communicate well with town residents and employees, help develop and maintain Town budgets, manage Town projects, understand and administer Town ordinances, be familiar with the operation of our drinking water plant and sewer plant, be able to repair water and sewer lines (day or night), and resolve complaints, as well as a thousand other possible things that may come up. The committee will be conducting a statewide search for applicants and will be seeking resume`s this summer.
