The Town of Stuart is pleased to announce that Mr. Bryce Simmons has accepted the Town Manager position for the Town of Stuart. Mr. Simmons is a native of Patrick County, and graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in civil engineering. Working in both public and private sector positions, Bryce has gained extensive experience in drinking water and wastewater treatment plant design and operation, He has knowledge of state and federal regulation for those treatment plants, as well as experience in storm water systems and design. His management of major infrastructure projects while working with the City of Danville and the Commonwealth of Virginia have prepared him well to serve the Town. Having earned his Professional Engineering license, Mr. Simmons has demonstrated the highest standard of competence in the engineering field.
Currently, Bryce serves as the Patrick County Economic Development Director and most notably has been working to bring high speed internet to the county. He is a long-term member, and currently serves as the president of the board of One Family Productions, he is a member of the Rotary Club of Stuart, as well as the Patrick County Young Professionals.
The Town feels that Bryce has a unique set of skills, experience, and education that make him the perfect fit for the position of Town Manager. Bryce will start with the Town in early September and will work alongside Terry Tilley until Terry’s retirement date. We look forward to this new chapter for the Town, and wish Terry Tilley a long, happy and healthy retirement.
